We don’t often think about the idea of educating inmates and whenever I tell people what I do, they ask a lot of questions. Here are some of their most frequently asked questions.

How did you get into this type of work?

I was working my day to day job when I started thinking about what else there was to do in the world. I realized that is not only about money but also about changing lives. That was the day that I started planning my classes.

Who qualifies for this program?

We complete some preliminary evaluations before allowing the inmates into the program. Mostly, we are looking for non-violent offenders who are only expecting a limited stay in the facility. The whole point is to prepare them for the outside world.

What do you teach them?

Our classes are very extensive because we want to be sure that we are giving them all of the skills necessary for these inmates to find good, high paying jobs where they can practice what they have learned without worrying that they are not prepared.

We start by teaching them basics including Debits and Credits, Revenues and Expenses, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, how to value inventory.

After that, we move to more complex lessons including Cash Flow Statements, Ratio Analysis, Income Statements, and Breakeven Point Analysis and more. This is the Frank Dinucci way of teaching.

Any success stories?

Absolutely! We have shown over 20 inmates that the dream is possible by giving them the skills they need to get a job after prison. Our most successful alumni, Wade Nodine, was released from prison and now works a steady job making a dependable salary and he has only himself to thank for putting in the work. This is just the tip of the iceberg. We are always hearing more success stories from our alumni and we can barely wait to see what is next!
